Safety

Safety comes before every swap

Battery energy needs careful handling. These are the rules our stations and software follow, and what to do if something goes wrong.

Our rules

Never issue an unsafe pack

Packs that are incompatible, damaged, overheating, under-charged, unverified or under investigation cannot be released — the software blocks it.

The station checks every battery

Stations are self-service. Each cabinet reads the returned battery’s chip and sensors; a battery that is not yours, faulty or too hot is locked in and set aside, and you are not charged.

Quarantine and clearance

A pack that fails inspection is quarantined and logged as an incident. It returns to service only after someone else reviews and clears it.

Safe when offline

Station controls are designed to fail safe if the internet drops. Risky transactions are refused until the station reconnects.

Handling your battery

  • Do not open, puncture or modify a battery pack.
  • Keep packs out of standing water and away from direct heat when not in your vehicle.
  • If a pack is swollen, smoking, hissing or unusually hot, move away from it, keep others away and call emergency services, then tell us.
  • Only swap at SunErrand stations, using the ScepterGrid app. Never force a door.

Certification status

Product certification for the pilot battery and station equipment is in progress with qualified specialists. We will list each certificate here, with its standard and expiry date, once issued. Until then we make no certification claims.

Report an incident

For any battery or station safety concern, contact support immediately at safety@sunerrand.com or tap Get help in the ScepterGrid app. In an emergency, move away from the cabinet and call 112 first.
